A Croque GlacĂ© is an exquisite French ice cream sandwich made with a homemade brioche bun. It’s warm and yet cold – and it’s crispy and yet chewy!

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best snack items in the Walt Disney World Resort.

Croque GlacĂ© is French for “ice cream crunch”. The name appears to have been inspired by similarly named iconic French sandwiches.

For example, a Croque Monsieur (Mister Crunch) is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. There’s also the Croque Madame (Mrs. Crunch), which is a Croque Monsieur topped with a fried or poached egg.

Similarly, the Croque Glacé is a sweet version of these savory grilled sandwiches.

Where is the Croque Glacé in EPCOT?

EPCOT’s Croque GlacĂ© is a signature menu item at L’Artisan des Glaces. You’ll find this Parisian-inspired ice cream shop tucked away in the France Pavilion in The World Showcase.

Keep in mind, it’s a bit off the beaten path. Therefore, you won’t see it from the main promenade that encircles the World Showcase lagoon.

But guests who take the time to meander back into the pavilion will have their taste buds rewarded.

On your way to L’Artisan de Glaces, you’ll pass Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. Although they don’t serve ice cream, this quick service restaurant has some truly incredible authentic French pastry offerings and should not be overlooked.

How do they make the Croque Glacé?

Each Croque Glacé is made to order.

First, you will choose your ice cream flavor from one of the 16 options that are made from scratch daily in-house.

Next, you’ll choose your sauce. After that, the real fun begins. In fact, part of what makes this treat so unique and special is the experience of watching the cast member assemble your creation.

They’ll slice open the shiny brioche bun and scoop the ice cream into it. Then they will place the sandwich onto a heavy-duty metal contraption to press and heat it.

It’s similar to one of those commercial waffle makers you’d see at a hotel breakfast buffet or in a college dining hall.

Finally, they’ll wrap your Croque GlacĂ© in news-printed wax paper, reach over the counter and place it in your eager hands.

How much money should I expect to spend at EPCOT?

It can be easy to spend a lot of money at EPCOT on food and beverages.

EPCOT is one of my favorite parks to visit and I love discovering new treats and indulging in my long-time favorites.

Snacks typically range in price from $5-10 and beverages can range from $5-15.

With this in mind, if you want to sample items from multiple pavilions or festival booths, it’s a good idea to budget at least $50 per person.
