Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the best theme parks for foodies. In my humble opinion, it’s second only to EPCOT.
Although, I must admit that the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge expansion has boosted the status of Hollywood Studios as a foodie park.
Animal Kingdom serves cuisine inspired by countries from around the world, especially in the Africa and Asia sections of the park. They even have other-worldly dining options in Pandora.
Like all Walt Disney World parks, Animal Kingdom has a variety of dining options, including table service and quick service. There are also quiet lounges and busy kiosks serving snacks and beverages.
In addition, you can find vegetarian options at nearly all counter service restaurants and table service restaurants. There are also choices for folks looking for traditional American fare like barbecue.

Animal Kingdom’s Asia section
One of my favorite areas to eat in Animal Kingdom is the Asia section of the park. There are several cool dining options in Asia.
If you’re looking for ice cream, check out Anandapur Ice Cream Truck. It’s located between Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids. Choose a waffle cone, float or sundae in your choice of vanilla, chocolate or swirl soft-serve.
If you’re in search of coffee, tea or pastries, there’s also a Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company Kiosk.
Mr. Kamal’s serves snacks like Dumplings and Seasoned Fries. Caravan Road offers Japanese-style shaved ice in a variety of tropical flavors. At Warung Outpost, you can pick up a cool beverage or a pre-packaged snack.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant and Local Food Cafes
For a full menu, you’ll want to visit either Yak & Yeti Restaurant or Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes.
If you’re looking for a spot to sit and enjoy a leisurely meal at a table service restaurant, Yak & Yeti Restaurant in Asia is the spot for you. They’re open for lunch and dinner. Just like the nearby Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids attractions, Yak & Yeti’s décor is inspired by Nepal.
Their menu features pan-Asian cuisine and seafood. Highlights include shareable Ahi Tuna Nachos, Firecracker Shrimp, Malaysian Seafood Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala and Korean-style beef. Their Honey Chicken is prepared tempura-style, tossed with stir-fried vegetables in a sweet sauce.
The Yak & Yeti Restaurant kids menu offers staples like mac and cheese and mini corn dogs. They also have choices for more adventurous little eaters like chicken fried rice or stir-fry noodles.
Kids’ meals come with their choice of beverages like Mickey Milk, apple juice or small bottled water. They can also choose two sides like fresh fruit or carrot sticks.
Is Yak and Yeti a quick service meal?
No, Yak & Yeti Restaurant is a table service restaurant. However, Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes is quick service.
The similar names can be a bit confusing, but the two dining locations actually share a building. They also have similar theming and menus.

Can you get Yak and Yeti to go?
Yes, Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes can be ordered to go. There are several menu items that are ideal for eating on the go.
Remember, this is a quick service dining location, so everything is served using disposable packaging.
Breakfast menu items like the Yogurt Parfait or Sausage and Egg English Muffin are good options for eating on the go. I’ve also personally ordered a Breakfast Bowl to go.
It comes in a plastic rectangular container and traveled well. However, the scrambled eggs served with peppers, onions, hash browns and cheese really called for a seat and a fork.
On the lunch and dinner menu, the pork egg rolls or French fries are your best bet for a quick snack to go. They also offer an American Kobe Cheeseburger or a Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich.
Other entrees like Vegetable Tikka Masala or Honey Sesame Chicken are served with white rice. They also have a Teriyaki Chicken Salad and St. Louis-style Rib Tips.
Like the breakfast bowl, these entrees are packages so that they travel well. However, you may be better able to enjoy these dishes while seated.
Is outdoor seating available at Yak and Yeti?
Fortunately, there’s an outdoor seating area to the right of the counter at Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes.
It looks limited and narrow from the entrance, but if you keep walking, you’ll find it opens onto a broader dining space behind the restaurant. This shady area is a great place to get off your feet and enjoy a quick meal.
Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes (quick service) only has an outdoor seating area. Yak & Yeti Restaurant (table service) offers indoor dining only.
If you’re looking for a sweet treat to go, check out the Yak & Yeti counter service dessert menu. They offer a mini mango pie and a mini chocolate silk cake. Yum!
At Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes, kids can choose between entrees like chicken strips, Uncrustables or a cheeseburger.
Yak & Yeti Restaurant is a table service restaurant, so it’s not set up for to-go orders. For Yak & Yeti Restaurant, you’ll need a dining reservation. It’s pretty easy to make one using the My Disney Experience App.
Some uber-planners like to make dining reservations months in advance, so popular restaurants can book up quickly. If you’re really interested in trying Yak & Yeti Restaurant (or any restaurant on Disney property), you can sometimes find a last-minute opening within 24 hours.
It also helps to be flexible in these circumstances. You’re more likely to find last-minute reservations during off-peak times, like 3:45 pm.
Does Yak and Yeti take walk-ins?
Advanced dining reservations are required for Yak & Yeti Restaurant. However, it is possible to snag a last-minute same-day reservation using the My Disney Experience App.
This is especially true for smaller parties. It also helps if you’re willing to be flexible on your dining time. It’s always easier to get a dining reservation for a super late lunch or very early dinner.
